Entry 11
This is it, the semester has been interesting to say the least especially with half of it online due to the corona virus pandemic. Throughout the class I got to read other people’s stories. Whether that be through non-fiction memoirs, poetry, or fictional books inspired by real events. My top three favorites were A Woman is No Man, Inheritance of Exile, and The Prophet. I liked those not as Arab-American Literature, but as just books in general. Which was is intended. Like I said before I did learn a little bit about Arab culture, but that wasn’t the main takeaway. It was also great being able to converse with the authors even if it was not in person. This class was not challenging although it was tedious to balance it out with my other 3 classes and the credit-less math course I was taking at the time before my placement exam. Therefore I should’ve spent more time on the required readings. I did read the books, however sometimes I would rush, skim, or mainly focus on the chapter/section I was assigned if that was the case. Overall while it was not hard it was not easy either, though if that were the case it wouldn’t be college class.
